Mojacar Playa is the nearest beach 30 minutes drive away. If you turn right at the roundabout as you hit the coast road you will drive past many shops, restaurants and beach bars. The further down you go, the wider the beach gets. You can park pretty much anywhere. There is kite surfing down the far end if you fancy it!

If you head to south to Carboneras you will find yourself on the coast of the Cabo de Gata natural park. Carboneras itself has an ugly cement factory but the coast either side is spectacular. Playa de los muertos pictured at the top of this page is a protected beach you have to park and walk down to. There are no facilities or bars there in an effort to keep it unspoilt. Aqua Armarga is a lovely coastal village with a beautiful beach with bars and restaurants.
Northwards from Mojacar there are beaches all the way along the cost. Garrucha is a big seaside town famous for its red prawns and worth a visit.
